Clouded Judgement
a Scenario
For the Full Thrust
war
game

Unless otherwise specified, assume all optional rules
from More Thrust are used!
Crude Metric Conversion
Please accept my appolgy for this crude estimation of
metric conversion. I have never seen a non-american version of the FT
rules. I tried to make by conversion easy to use.
3' = 1m
1"= 25mm
so a 6'x3' table would be approx 3x1m.
each point of thrust would move a ship 25mm.
This scenario takes place inside a Nebula. Nebulas are the result of
exploded stars or collections of gas giving birth to new stars.
The star Judgment subsides in Nebula VH-8311. This nebula
is the result of a blue giant which went nova an estimated 600 years
ago. Judgment has 2 planets in the GIRS gravity well. Both of
these planets are remarkable for their large concentration of heavy
metals. The LLAR and the IF both claim the system.
Setup: roll 1 die LLAR enter the play area on that heading within
6" of the edge. Roll another die. Add 6 to the result IF enters on
that heading within 6" of the edge. There should be a 6" planet in
the center of the table. This planet has an atmosphere.
Special Rules for this Scenario: Because of the gasses/plasmas in
the nebula, additional precautions must be taken to avoid damage to
ships passing through it. Streamlining and slower speeds are 2 of
these ways.
- Fully Streamlined ships may travel at velocities of up to 3
times their thrust rating. Example: A fully streamlined version of
a standard corvette (thrust 8, cost 49) could travel at a velocity
of up to 24 without a chance of damage from the
gasses/plasma.However, a fully streamlined version of a standard
super dreadnought (thrust 2, cost 660) could safely travel up to a
velocity of 6.
- Partially Streamlined ships may only travel at velocities of
up to 2 times their thrust rating. Example: A partially
streamlined version of a standard corvette (thrust 8, cost 46)
could travel at velocities of up to 16 without a chance of damage
from the nebula. A fully streamlined version of a standard
superdreadnought (thrust 2, cost 620) could safely travel up to a
velocity of 4.
- Non-Streamlined ships may only travel at velocities of up to
their thrust rating. Example: A non-streamlined standard corvette
(thrust 8, cost 43) could travel at velocities of up to 8 without
a chance of damage from the nebula. A non-streamlined standard
superdreadnought (thrust 2, cost 580) could safely travel up to a
velocity of 2.
- Fighters/Missiles are considered streamlined and suffer no
movement penalties.
- Exceeding the safe velocity of a given ship will result in
rolls as if the ship has reached a Threshold Point (see p. 10 Full
Thrust). These rules can apply to any gaseous/plasma space (solar
flairs, comet tails, areas around a black hole, and even (if you
are really nasty) Nova Cannon and Wave Gun shots).
Both sides are given 1500 points of FTL ships. Players may not
shoot through the planet. Players may notland on the planet. The
planet's mining facilities are valuable and cannot be risked.
