He turns to the comm station. "Lieutenant McDougan, send
message to Commodore Shatswell. Let him know we are still
having navigational difficulties, but we are beginning our
attack run. Obviously turning tail is not going to work!
They have something there that is scarier than Amoral's nova
weapons. Clark may have to wait."
Meanwhile on the Iowa, Shatswell hesitates then swivels in his
chair. "Those heavy beams are going to eat them alive.
Lieutenant, tell Missouri and her group that they must dive in
and take out Random Effect's beam platforms."
"But sir, the larger vessels. . ."
"Look, they are doomed if they maintain their distance!
I know it's like bringing a knife to a gunfight, but a slim
chance is better than none. Now do it!"
