This document contains Dirtside II designs for vehicles from Space Marine, Renegade Legion Centurion, and Battletech. html-ized by Mark Langsdorf.

EPIC SPACE MARINE Imperial Guard and Marine vehicles:

  • Rhino
    • Med. APC, SZ 2, Stealth 0, Fast Tracked, Pt Value 35, Enh FireCon, No ECM, 2/1 Armor, RFAC/1 (90deg Front Arc), APSW, 8 cargo cap, CFE power.
    • I gave it an RFAC instead of extra APSWs to give it some weak anti-tank capability
    • The rhino is the most common and basic vehicle I use, so all sizes are based on this being size 2.

  • Imperial Guard Robot

    • I wanted to represent the flamethrower armament of the tank- great anti-infantry, good anti-tank, SHORT range. So I bent the rules and allowed four weapons on a size 2 vehicle.

    • To preserve the one stand troop capacity and the decent laser main armament, I cheated and removed the inherent APSW to get the extra capacity point I needed. Another method would be to consider the two Plasma guns in the turret one DFFG/1 for Dirtside purposes. I like the machine-gunless design.

    • I used a "2x" multiplier for the turrets since the 180deg left/right arc is so restrictive.

    • I Tried to accurately portray the massive anti-infantry power of the tank. The description of the tank says the armor is thicker to prevent side/back shots while close-in fighting. I Could've used CFE power, but I couldn't picture this baby pulling up to the gas pump. Imagine the gas mileage!

    • Identical designs. But how much can you do with a Size 2 area defense vehicle?

Note that I use Ablative armor for all the Centurion vehicles. This future history is very high-tech, and uses lasers and missiles very frequently. So I placed a high priority on missile and laser defense. A good guideline for conversion is to use one size level for each 50mm of a Gauss Cannon. If a Centurion vehicle has only a few TVLG's or SMLM's, I gave it no missiles (until someone comes up with one-shot missile racks for Dirtside), and if a vehicle has a lot of TVLG's and SMLM's, I gave it a GMS/L. But you can convert to whatever you'd like. That's why the Dirtside II is such a cool game.
